By accepting the Privacy Policy and the Terms of Use Agreement in registration, you expressly consent to our collection, storage, use and disclosure of your personal information as described in this Privacy Policy. Please read this policy (henceforth, "Policy") to see how Maxpawn handles your personal information that you give to us when you register to use our website (the "Site"). This Policy only covers employees of Maxpawn and the information we collect on the Site and does not extend to people or companies that Maxpawn does not employ or manage. We reserve the right to modify this Policy. We will notify you of substantial changes to this Policy by telling you about them in the forums. Should we make a material change to the manner in which we handle your collected personal information, we shall place a prominent notice on the Site, or notify you by email.

Third Party Cookies: We may from time to time engage third parties to track and analyze non-personally identifiable usage and volume statistical information from visitors to our Site to help us administer our Site and improve its quality. Such third parties may use cookies to help track visitor behavior. Such cookies will not be used to associate individual website visitors to any personally identifiable information.

How is my information used?

The information collected from Maxpawn Members is used to improve product offerings, customize our Site's content and layout, and for marketing and statistical effort. Occasionally, we will send you emails about new services or promotions. You can always opt-out of receiving any information from us by updating your account preferences in your account. You can also change access, delete, or modify any of your personal information by logging into your account on the Site. Other visitors to our Site may view your user ID, rating, city, profile (which includes multiple fields you may elect to fill out or leave blank);
In order to complete the transaction, the buyer and seller are provided with each other’s email and postal address;
When making an offer, the seller can view your user ID, rating and your city.

Of course, once you provide personal information to a buyer or seller on our Site, Maxpawn has no control over how that information is used by that individual. You should discuss any privacy concerns you may have with any individual you meet through our Site as the only protection you will have is whatever terms you agree to directly with this individual.

Maxpawn will disclose your personally identifiable information to others under the following circumstances:

You consent to share the information;
To law enforcement where a formal request has been made such as in responding to subpoenas, court orders or legal process;
Your actions on our Site are, or appear to be, in violation of the Terms of Service and disclosure of this information will assist in efforts to enforce the Terms of Service;
To our service providers we employ the services of a third party payment processor on the Site to fulfill payment when a purchase is executed. This third party isn't authorized to utilize your personal information for any other purposes. We also employ the services of a third party shipping agent.

Maxpawn also makes no representations regarding, and disclaims all liability arising out of, or related to, the accuracy or completeness of the information it collects and discloses through our Site. In the event of a business transfer of assets, which could include your personal information, we shall notify you by email or by a notice on the Site of any significant changes to the information practices governing your personal information.

Minors

Minors (those under the age of 18) are not eligible to use Maxpawn unless they use our Site through a parent or guardian who is a registered Member of Maxpawn.

Account Protection

Your password is the key to your account. Use unique numbers, letters and special characters, and do not disclose your Maxpawn password to anyone. If you do share your password or your personal information with others, remember that you are responsible for all actions taken in the name of your account. If you lose control of your password, you may lose substantial control over your personal information and may be subject to legally binding actions taken on your behalf. Therefore, if your password has been compromised for any reason, you should immediately notify Maxpawn and change your password.

Accessing, Reviewing and Changing Your Personal Information

You can see, review and change most of your personal information by signing on to Maxpawn. Generally, we will not manually modify your personal information because it is very difficult to verify your identity remotely. You must promptly update your personal information if it changes or is inaccurate. Once you make a public posting, you may not be able to change or remove it. Upon your request, we will close your account and remove your personal information from view as soon as reasonably possible based on your account activity and in accordance with applicable law. We do retain personal information from closed accounts to comply with law, prevent fraud, collect any fees owed, resolve disputes, troubleshoot problems, assist with any investigations, enforce our Maxpawn Terms of Use Agreement, and take other actions otherwise permitted by law.

Data Retention & Security

We will retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. Your information is stored on our servers located in the United States. We treat data as an asset that must be protected and use lots of tools (encryption, passwords, physical security, etc.) to protect your personal information against unauthorized access and disclosure. However, as you probably know, third parties may unlawfully intercept or access transmissions or private communications, and other users may abuse or misuse your personal information that they collect from the site. Therefore, although we work very hard to protect your privacy, we do not promise, and you should not expect, that your personal information or private communications will always remain private.

Blog Disclosure

If you use a bulletin board, blog, or chat room on this website, you should be aware that any personally identifiable information you submit there can be read, collected, or used by other members of these forums, and can be used to send you unsolicited messages.
